Winter in Elmwood Park

Posted by
karla (Omaha, United States) on 11 February 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Elmwood Park, established in 1889, is a municipal park in what is now the center of Omaha. A small stream runs through a ravine to a pond on the adjacent municipal Golf Course. Located near the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the park includes walking trails, sports fields, picnic areas, a swimming pool, playground, and lots of trees. I will undoubtedly be posting more images from here as time goes on.

@Candais: Thank you very much! I had a good time tromping around on the day I took this. So you are in the "near-north", Canada. I had to look up Lisieux on Google map. (That's another nice thing about Am3--get to know geography better.) I know more about Ontario, since I am originally from Buffalo, New York. I checked your have beautiful images of your life there. Must be very difficult at times. Your cattle pictures are impressive! So is the snow you have. We have much here, but today it is melting pretty fast in 40 degree F temps.

Anita from West Nottingham, United States

A calm image. Beautiful tones.

@Anita: Thanks, Anita. It was very quiet that day, the wind very still. No one around. I prefer quieter areas for taking pictures. It becomes more meditative.

DULCIE from Danville, CA, United States

Wow, a beautiful, striking scene. This is the kind of "snow" scene that I wish I could take...
but, alas, no snow here. Therefore, I am posting California Winter images. Thank you for visiting. :-)

@DULCIE: Thanks, Dulcie, for your appreciative comment. Nothing wrong at all with California winters and you are doing fine work with your images.
