Daisy with texture

Posted by
karla (Omaha, United States) on 11 April 2011 in Plant & Nature.

We have a little break from the orchid. The original daisy image had very dark shadows where the blues and greens are now. Created with Photoshop layers and layer styles; texture from Shadowhouse, texture from Ash, and a layer I made by cropping/ blurring the original.

This is so very beautiful. I'm a bit blonde when it comes to post processing so therefore really admire work like this. Wonderful colors and I like how the white stands out.

@✿ Anina ✿: Thanks, Anina. I have found that it takes time and practice, mostly "playing" with different settings. There are some great tutorials on the internet. Thanks for your visit and kind comments!

Your textures have inspired me! *must consider how to implement this into my own work* Thank you :)

@Laura: Great, Laura! Textures take a bit of practice and more trial and error, but once you get going, it is great fun.

I often have doubts about textures but I must say this works really well - perhaps because (in part) the texture reflects the center of the flower itself !

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks, Ronnie, for the insightful comment. I think I was taken far more with the blues that popped out, and less with the texture when I was playing with this. Guess I could say I planned it that way, but actually it is still somewhat accidental exploration. ;-)

@Arnd: thanks, Arnd! Sometimes it works. Sometimes not right away, and other times with a click and whir, there it is, after a bit of finessing. this took a bit of time. ;-)
