Symbolic for "river"Posted by karla (Omaha, United States) on 30 June 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Here in Omaha, the College World Series was played (beautifully) in a brand new stadium that was a success (except for many more afternoon seats in the hot sun). The concurrent news is the massive flooding along the Missouri River--the Missouri River Flood of 2011 is proving to outdo anything anyone has heard/seen before and it is not going to be over any time soon. I have no pictures of it, but there are plenty on the internet. My neighborhood is a few miles and up the hill away from the river. Daily news keeps us abreast of the "Muddy Mo" mess, including nuclear power station status reports (we are repeatedly assured it is not another Fukushima). On the light and bright, we have a new granddaughter! I am helping my daughter so she can keep up with sleep. Sort of. Hopefully. And I get to see the little one daily! Picture here was taken recently on the annually-offered garden walk to raise funds for Munroe-Meyer Institute. To read more about it, the website is at http://www.unmc.edu/mmi/. Connected with the University of Nebraska Med Center, they provide education, patient care and research for those with disabilities and genetic and developmental disorders. Thank you for visiting! Your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated. All my images are owned/copyrighted by me and no one is allowed to use them in any form or format unless I have been contacted first to give written permission for a specific use.

@john4jack: Thanks, Jack. For the most part, I used Lightroom on this one, with some finagling in Photoshop for final color. @Ronnie 2¢: Thanks very much, Ronnie, for your comment. @Arnd: Thank you, Arnd, for your appreciative comment. |
