Arnd from Basel, Switzerland

Great sepia tones and neat subject! Looks like a picture from my grandmother’s shoebox.

@Arnd: Thanks, Arnd. That is exactly what "spoke to me" the day I was processing this image. :)

Julie L. Brown from Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

Nice! Is this in your garden? I like how the bird house is surrounded by vegetation. Your processing enhances the effect.

18 Nov 2011 10:35am

@Julie L. Brown: Hi, Julie...no, this was not in my garden. This was found in another yard on one of the Garden Walks I attended. I found other birdhouses in other yards on this particular Garden Walk, though not in as lovely a spot as this one. Thanks for your comment!

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

Any bird would be proud to live in this des-res!

18 Nov 2011 12:57pm

@CElliottUK: Thanks! I thought the front door "stoop" was particularly well done. A "step up" [compared to the usual bird house]. ;)

Twojays from Montana, United States

ILOVETHIS!!! The hue and mood and distancing from glaring reality.

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

Home sweet home . . looks very 'established' as the realtors might say !

25 Nov 2011 10:15am

@Ronnie 2¢: Ah yes, it was definitely well rooted to the spot. There is something very endearing for me about bird houses.
