This area is called the grotto. What we see here is a square crop to better show the detail. Out of to the left is a large open space with terraced gardens. The stairway on the other side leads to the upper level and a city golf course. In the middle of the image is a strong ironwork fence that keeps visitors from falling into the creek.
Thank you for visiting! Your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

@Denny Jump Photo: Golly, thanks, Denny! Although, I can't take credit for the beauty of these stairs. ;) It is an extremely (for me) difficult place to photograph. The trees intrude all the way around, and the only way I could get it to look decent in a small image was to get in close with a square crop. Those stairs you see? I have never climbed them! I know what is on the upside however, since the roadway winds around and up and along the edge of the gulf course.
@john4jack: Thanks very much, Jack! Your latest post is superb!!
@akbar: Thank you, Akbar. Welcome and thank you for your nice comment. :
@Jason Politte: Thank you very much, Jason! The curves are what attracted me, too.
@ordinaryimages: Yikes!! All the way to the top? Guess I could give it a try, but only if the stairs are clear and dry. It would be interesting to see the perspective from that side of the grotto. Thanks for your visit here, and for your comment...gave me a good laugh. :D
@Ted: Thank you, Ted.
@Richard Geven: That is exactly what it felt like while out in it. Since this kind of wet, heavy, clinging snow is unusual for here (we more often get a dryer snow), we felt the magic everywhere we went. Thanks, Richard, for your visit and cooment! :)
