Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, has a plaza designed specifically for a collection of Jun Kaneko's ceramic sculptures. These three heads are a part of the collection. More next post.

What a strange conception . . looking forward to more !

@Ronnie 2¢: Well, good! Apparently this processing did produce some thought, which is what I was hoping for. The problem is in giving a sense of how much these sculptures impress on the mind. They are quite enormous, for one thing, taller than people once placed on their metal supports. I suspect the three heads are designed to have relate to this particular architectural space. Kaneko has other heads with different surface designs or colors. Thanks for your comment!

Arnd from Basel, Switzerland

Brilliant gray tones and lighting. Angle and tight crop make this a really mysterious photograph. Great work, Karla!

brilliant - if a bit confusing at first! i like the way you show this, and i like the sculpture!!

@franz: Yes, I did not realize how it could confuse, since I was well aware of these art pieces and their shapes before processing the image. Thanks for your input!!

The subject is most interesting. The B&W presentation certainly sets the mood. This is the type of subject that gives the photographer a certain license to explore. You can start to get in close and examine parts and pieces of the sculpture. Nicely done!

Wonderful art and a great frame of it. I feel the dark and light side of man still sharply defined here.
