Vanessa cardui, painted lady butterfly

Posted by karla (Omaha, United States) on 19 September 2017 in Animal & Insect.

Painted lady butterflies have been observed in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, (among many other places) in unusually large numbers this Fall. My yard has a flurry of them right now nectaring from tall Sedum and New England asters.

Thank you for visiting! Your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.
