Painted Lady Butterfly on New England Asters

Autumn, continued. The painted lady butterfly (Vanessa cardui) and a bee are nectaring their last on the New England asters. The weather has finally turned cool after an unusually warm Fall. The aster blossoms are turning to seed. Soon there will be no more nectar available.
