Allium -- after the flowering

Allium 'Mount Everest': Large 4-inch diameter globe of flowers grows on stems about 3 feet tall. It blooms for a couple of weeks, then forms seeds, as you see here. Eventually the seed ball and stem will dry, remaining standing for weeks or months, again depending on weather.

They're just as lovely after the blooms have disappeared! A splendid composition with beautiful verdant tones. They always look like "sparklers" to me.
